DAY OF THE ENTREPRENEUR | Dag van de Ondernemer

Every third Friday of November is declared ‘Entrepreneur’s Day’ in the Netherlands. A day on which entrepreneurs are thanked for their entrepreneurship, creativity, drive for innovation, and perseverance. On the occasion of this initiative - driven by MKB-Nederland - we are putting our Dutch entrepreneurs in the spotlight.

This year, we are doing it for the first time digitally on a global scale. In 14 countries - all official parts of the NL Business Hub Network - we have selected one of our local entrepreneurs who exemplifies sustainable entrepreneurship. Sustainability is key for every entrepreneur, hence the theme we have chosen for 2024. Travel around the world with us and discover 14 unique entrepreneurs and their stories.

The NFCC has chosen to spotlight Michel Bayings, founder of Holiday Charging. Michel is a visionary in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry, dedicated to making EV charging accessible for travellers and vacation destinations across France.

His work with Holiday Charging reflects a commitment to sustainable mobility, reducing the carbon footprint of travel, and supporting the transition to cleaner energy solutions. Michel’s innovative approach not only boosts sustainable tourism but also exemplifies how s a Dutch entrepreneur in France, Michel has overcome significant challenges, from navigating complex regulatory landscapes to building cross-cultural partnerships, all while staying true to his vision for sustainable mobility.
