This Tuesday, at the historic Hôtel d’Avaray in Paris, we had the privilege, together with the Ambassade des Pays-Bas en France and Business France, to bring together Dutch and French pioneers shaping the next generation of plastic recycling and circular business models.

Government leaders, industry experts, innovators, and financial institutions gathered for a powerful roundtable on how we can build a European value chain for plastic recycling that is scalable, collaborative, and future-proof.

What stood out?

Cross-border collaboration is key.

Technology is moving fast, but alignment is essential.

Dutch and French companies and institutions, from RetourMat and Royal Ahrend to ING, Invest-NL, Reju, Repeats, Citeo, and Reed Circular Economy, showed how bilateral cooperation is already accelerating innovation in circular materials and recycling technologies.

Participants highlighted the need for harmonized policy frameworks, consistent standards, and financing models that support circularity at scale.

Circular business cases are becoming competitive.

Europe has a unique opportunity.

Through real-world examples, companies demonstrated that sustainable practices are not only environmentally necessary, but that they are increasingly commercially viable.

By connecting expertise from both sides of the border, we can turn plastic waste and used textiles into valuable resources and build a truly European circular ecosystem.

We extend our warm thanks to:

H.E. Jan Versteeg Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to France and his team from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water management
Business France, represented by Marie-Cécile Tardieu
Industry leaders from RetourMat France, ING France, Reju, Repeats, Citeo, Invest-NL, Royal Ahrend, and Reed–Circular Economy.

All representatives of the Franco-Dutch business community who contributed to such an engaging discussion
... And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us for the roundtable and networking reception.

Together, we’re building circular solutions that can set the standard for Europe.
